fabrique records has been started in winter 2001/2002 by michael martinek and christian roesner. to celebrate the fifth anniversary of fabrique records in spring 2007, “the fabrique album” has been released as a showcase for the label’s alternative style. a
statement that reflects the eclectic nature of the music released over
the past few years, produced by various artists from austria, germany, france, italy and the uk.
this album will consciously go against the classic
“best of” principal and instead include some essential highlights from
the colourful back-catalogue, numerous exclusives produced especially
for the record like the hot "electronic" debut by mtv legend ray cokes, a jazzy cut by the waxolutionists, an exclusive rework by bernhard fleischmann, as well as remixes and rare material by artists like hans joachim roedelius.
