Fabrique has been started in winter 2001/2002 by Michael Martinek and Christian Roesner.

To celebrate the fifth anniversary of the Viennese label and publisher Fabrique in spring 2007, The Fabrique Album has been released as a showcase for the labels alternative and electronic style. A statement that reflects the eclectic nature of the music released over the past few years, produced by various artists from Germany, UK, Austria, France and Italy - feat. also guest appearances by artists like Eddie Argos (from Art Brut), Chris Corner (IAMX) or MTV-legend Ray Cokes.
